Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's story combines family football scholarship with volunteering for the community. He is the youngest child from Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon. They had him raised on the farm they owned in Eufala. Also, he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma on the field of football. All three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award as well as the Lombardi Award for being the best lineman in the country. Lee Roy won two championships, and 32-1-1 in his three seasons as Oklahoma's main man. In his role as an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded a scholarship for the third year in the year 1975. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in education. Lee Roy was involved in volunteering for ten hours per week while he attended college. Following graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa and spent the next 9 years with Tampa's Buccaneers. There were three times, he was named an All-Pro. He began his business career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Representative at Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the most prominent young people in America. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds when he was a student athlete. He played for the team of 1975. In 1993, he was named as associate director at the University of South Florida. The College Football Hall of Fame named his on the 28th of October, the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor, who presented this award.
