Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton escaped the struggles in her early life thanks to her inventive and innovative imagination. Before she could write or read, she was making up her own songs. The first time she picked up a guitar was when she was 8 and began singing on the Knoxville Tenn radio station at age 11. In the following year, she made her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small label. While she was popular in the local scene while she was at the high school years, her goals were greater. She relocated to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first single to reach the top of the charts for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer to join his syndicated show from the beginning. Parton got her first gig in the year 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. Parton left the show however, in 1974 because her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton recorded "I I Will Never Forget You" in support of Wagoner shortly after they separated. The song was ranked number. The first time it reached the top spot was in 1974.
