Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian (Canadian-American) is an activist in the field of feminist media in addition to a public speaking Canadian. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency which is a website with videos and comments analyzing the portrayals of females in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a journalist, critic, as well as an award-winning feminist for nearly a decade. Feminist Frequency is an educational site for non-profit organizations that examines female representations in narratives from popular culture. Dispelling stereotypes of women is the main goals of her organization. However, Sarkeesian also seeks to bring attention to problems like targeting and bullying of women on the internet.
